by Kim Tronic, Resident Cocktail Mistress…
Like any normal woman, I’m private about certain details. My weight. My real hair color. Amount of money spent on Botox. But one secret that everyone seems to know: I’m kind of a crazy cat lady.
I have 3 kitties and about 2,000 photos of them on my phone. They sleep on my bed while I’m twisted into an abnormal position to accommodate their comfort. They rule the roost — and they know it.

The Fat Dog in Hollywood doesn’t bite
Then, a couple weeks ago, a friend invited me out to a dog-themed restaurant/bar, The Fat Dog in Hollywood. Although I “purr-fur” cocktails with cats, this piqued my curiosity.
Once I stepped foot into The Fat Dog, I fell in love. Dog paintings and photographs dot the joint. Puppy wallpaper covers the walls. And canine companions accompany guests on the patio.

Chilling With The Pooches
Oh and did I mention bulldog ice cubes?
I love seeing how doggy culture has infiltrated our L.A. existence. Pet grooming. Doggy daycare. Weekend hikes. Sunday brunch with Fido under the table. And now I’m psyched to see it spilling into my nightlife.
I liked one drink at The Fat Dog so much that I nearly licked the glass clean. Just like Fido after you take him to the groomers, this cocktail is fresh, cool, and all bark, no bite.
Tailwagger
1.5 ounces Loft & Bear Vodka
1 ounce Rock Sake Cloud
.75 ounces lime juice
.75 ounces agave
Muddled cucumber
So next time you’re hankering for a killer martini, let your dog (and your husband) off his leash and scamper over to The Fat Dog.
Sounds good. I had to have a martini tonight. Simple one. Kettle One, vermouth and 3 olives. It did the job.
We’re happy to serve and inspire!
